POS RANK TIER RANK PLAYER MLB LINK LG TEAM POS AGE FP 2010 BA 2010 R 2010 HR 2010 RBI 2010 SB COMMENTS
1 Alex Rodriguez MLB AL NYY 3B 34.7 133.86 .290 105 38 117 14 Had hip surgery at the beginning of the 2009 season, missed the first five weeks of the season. Started slow, but came on towards the end of the year. Should be at full strength to start the 2010 season and once again be the number one fantasy 3B.
2 David Wright MLB NL NYM 3B 27.2 122.37 .300 95 20 90 22 Power numbers dropped like a rock in 2009 and it was not just because of the new Citi Field. Will continue to produce good SB and batting average numbers, but power numbers may never reach the 2005-2008 years.
2 Evan Longoria MLB AL TB 3B 24.5 119.15 .282 99 35 114 9 Really came into his own in 2009, expect the 24 year old to be the top-rated fantasy 3B in the very near future.
2 Ryan Zimmerman MLB NL WAS 3B 25.5 110.51 .288 103 32 103 3 Very good in 4 of the 5 categories, few SB's keep him out of the elite tiers. Excellent young player who is developing nicely.
2 Pablo Sandoval MLB NL SF 1B/3B 23.7 108.65 .313 86 23 94 4 One of the best young hitters in the game today. Kung-Fu Panda has lost some weight this offseason, so continued improvement is expected. Looks to be primary 3B with recent signings in SF.
3 Mark Reynolds MLB NL ARI 1B/3B 26.7 104.40 .255 94 37 100 13 With LaRoche signing, Reynolds will move back to 3B. Would be higher up the rankings, but that .255 batting average pulls him down. But, hard to ignore those power numbers.
3 Kevin Youkilis MLB AL BOS 1B/3B 31.0 102.97 .292 94 26 100 4 The 1B/3B eligibility is a nice added bonus for the Greek God of Walks. He will produce good numbers across the board except for SB.
3 Aramis Ramirez MLB NL CHC 3B 31.8 98.00 .300 79 25 102 1 Missed a few months of the 2009 season with a shoulder dislocation. Should be fine entering this year, expect 25+ HR's 95+ RBI's and about a .300 average.
4 Chone Figgins MLB AL SEA 3B 32.2 90.41 .282 91 4 46 38 Move to SEA may lower his batting average and run total, but should still top 35 SB once again in 2010. Will be switched to 2B which will increase his value with dual position eligibility.
4 Michael Young MLB AL TEX 3B 33.4 89.07 .297 83 15 78 7
5 Jorge Cantu MLB NL FLA 1B/3B 28.1 82.26 .281 76 20 93 3 Could start at 1B or 3B depending on who FLA wants to start between Sanchez and Bonifacio.
5 Adrian Beltre MLB AL BOS 3B 31.0 81.32 .278 72 19 76 11 Missed all of July due to surgery to remove bone spurs from his shoulder. Missed a few weeks in August with an injured testicle. Move to a better lineup and hitter park should help his stats.
5 Gordon Beckham MLB AL CHW 3B 23.6 79.89 .274 78 18 78 9 Expected to begin the season as the starting 2B and thus gain the added eligibility early into the season.
5 Martin Prado MLB NL ATL 1B/2B/3B 26.4 75.95 .300 80 12 62 4 Can play all over the field, but will start at 2B this season in ATL.
